Batocera configuration guide

If you have observed a sensitivity issue with the spinner, please follow the instructions below to update the mouse polling rate for the Batocera system. Please refer to the step-by-step guide provided.

Step-by-Step: Set usbhid.mousepoll=1 on Batocera (Raspberry Pi)

1. SSH into your Batocera system and then remount the boot partition as writable

mount -o remount,rw /boot

2. Edit the cmdline.txt file

nano /boot/cmdline.txt

You’ll see one long line of text (as you posted earlier).

Carefully scroll to the end of that line (do not create a new line), and add this:

usbhid.mousepoll=0

So the full line becomes something like:

coherent_pool=1M 8250.nr_uarts=0 snd_bcm2835.enable_headphones=0 ... rootwait fastboot noswap usbhid.mousepoll=0

Do not insert any line breaks— it must stay a single line.

Then save:

•Press Ctrl + X

•Press Y to confirm

•Press Enter to write changes

3. Reboot the system

reboot

4. Confirm it worked

After reboot:

cat /proc/cmdline

You should now see:

... rootwait fastboot noswap usbhid.mousepoll=0

If it appears: Your polling rate has been updated successfully.

Now you can test and see if this improves the sensitivity of the spinner in-game.

DIP Switch Adjustments:

Use the DIP switch to configure the spinner speed according to the following steps:

1.Disconnect all sockets on the spinner.

2.Open the casing by removing the screws on each side.

3.Remove the plastic casing.

4.Adjust the speed using the DIP switch, based on the required level.
